Facets of Truth

As I was reading chapters 6 & 7, I was struck simply by the many facets of truth. As we continue to read for class, Lynch seems to systematically advocate that truth can not simply be defined in one form alone, i.e. scientifically, morally, ethically, etc. I interpreted that to mean that in order for truth to be actual, justifiable and believable, it must literally be true in every realm. While I don't disagree that truth is good, I wonder if it essentially is impossible to attain actual truth, undisputed by some philosopher somewhere...
