Some Questions for Monday

So, here are some questions we'll be discussing tomorrow:

• The generic title of this course is Paths to Knowledge; having read what you have so far from this class, what does this title mean to you? What are the presuppositions behind the title of the course?
• What do you believe your painting is about? On what grounds have you reached this conclusion?
• How does one determine what a painting is about?
• What does your painting tell you about your topic that that you didn’t already know?
• What do you hope to better understand about the topic of your painting before the end of the semester?
• What do you hope to know about your topic?
• Is there a difference between believing, knowing and understanding? What are the differences as far as you can tell at this moment?
